The paved Miami Beach Beachwalk that stretches from 22nd Street to 5th Street will be extended to run all of the way to South Pointe. Work is now being completed on the Beachwalk from the south with the final stretch — behind The Presidential, the Savoy Hotel and the condos at 501 Ocean Dr and 345 Ocean Drive — scheduled for completion by 2016.

April is Bike Rack Spring Cleaning Month at the Presidential. If you have an old bike that is attached to the rack but doesn’t appear to be in use anymore, we will be removing it and trashing it by April 15.
Bikes that have flat tires, missing parts and excessive rust are an eyesore – and a sure sign that haven’t been used in a while. The annual Spring Bike cleaning will help keep our building looking tidy. Thanks in advance for removing any old bikes that are no longer being used. Special scaffolding required for an apartment balcony construction project on the north side of the Presidential’s parking lot will temporarily remove about a half dozen parking spaces beginning on April 8.
During the period of construction, you may park in any space in the parking lot.
The Main Office will be issuing special parking passes to make sure that cars that don’t belong in our lot don’t park in our lot.
The Fire Department of the City of Miami Beach has identified the “kitchen doors” which connect to the hallway in some of our units as a hazardous situation should there ever be a fire in our building. On March 8 2014, The Presidential Board of Directors will discuss a proposed special assessment of $12,000 to repair the water pumps in our building. These units are used to supply water to all of the apartments at The Presidential. In 2013, the board identified this as an issue and brought in several outside consultants and contractors to confirm these systems were close to failing. Feb 13, 2014 — The unit owners of the Presidential Condominium re-elected five of the incumbent directors last night and replaced two of the sitting board members with new faces.
The current board President Patrick McMahon, Vice President Roberto Gomez and Secretary/Treasurer Joseph Iacono were reelected as well as board members Maria Farmiga and Theodore April. Nyxlie Machado and Dave Zornow were elected to The Presidential Board of Directors for the first time.
Carlos Rodriguez and Miguel Rodriguez (no relation) were elected to non-voting trustee positions.
The new board will meet in two weeks to select officers for 2014-2015. The “voter turnout,” the number of unit owners that cast a valid ballot, was 61% (144 ballots counted).
