As unit owners, we don’t pay an individual bill for the water we use at the Presidential. However, the condo association picks up that cost — and it’s a cost that’s running twice as high as we budgeted based on last year’s usage. It’s one of the items that will be covered in a special assessment in the near future.

Is your toilet running all of the time? Across 238 units that slow drip can add up to a lot of wasted water. Can you check the toilet in your unit and let the Main Office know if your water is running? If you have a tenant, could you ask them to check?

If you need help cleaning out the valve to stop this waste of water, please let the Main Office know and Monica will ask Armando to visit your apartment. If your toilet valve needs replacing, we can replace it for you, but will need to charge you for the part (it’s about $15 or less at any hardware store, Home Depot or Lowes — you are also welcome to buy it yourself).

You might be thinking, “why should I concern myself with a little leak in my toilet — it’s just a little water!” Actually, that drip drip drip is the sound of YOUR money going down the drain: Through June 2015 our year to date water bill was $92,000 — which is what we paid for ALL of 2014! Although we did plumbing repairs in Feb and refilled the pool in March, every other month is still almost twice as high as last year. So there’s something going on — and with your help, we can get shrink our water bill back to where it belongs!
