The Fire Department of the City of Miami Beach has identified the “kitchen doors” which connect to the hallway in some of our units as a hazardous situation should there ever be a fire in our building. The Fire Department has asked us to remove the door handles from kitchen doors that are no longer in use. In an emergency, fire fighters won’t be able to determine which doors work and which ones don’t.

On March 3 2014, The Presidential’s maintenance staff will begin removing these door knobs and filling the space with a fire resistant material.

During a previous inspection, a list of all units that no longer have functioning kitchen doors was created. We can complete this work without entering these apartments but wanted to make sure you were aware that this work will be take place during the week of March 3.
